Jason Simon is CEO of SimpsonScarborough, a firm widely regarded as the leading provider of market research and brand strategy for US colleges and universities.

He joined the firm in 2014 as Vice President and Partner after senior marketing roles at the University of California System and North Carolina State University.

In those positions, he built the case for strategic marketing from the ground up, launched brand platforms, and conducted large-scale market research programs. The American Marketing Association named him Higher Education Marketer of the Year in 2013.

As CEO, Simon has grown SimpsonScarborough's footprint while shaping the intellectual conversation around brand coherence, institutional positioning, and the evolving role of CMOs. He serves as co-chair of the AMA Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education, the field's largest annual gathering.

He publishes regularly on the SimpsonScarborough blog and speaks at CASE, the AMA Symposium, and other industry events. In 2025, he led the relaunch of SimpsonScarborough's brand and website.
